How to Create a Logo Watermark Brush Preset

1. Use PIXLR, a great online image editor; no software to download or install:

https://pixlr.com

2. Choose “PIXLR EDITOR” and click on “Launch Web App”,

3. Click on “Create a new Image”,

4. Change the name to whatever you like,

a. Keep the size preset 800x600,

b. Check the box labeled “Transparent”,

c. Click OK,

5. Click on the “Type Tool” and click in the upper left corner of the image,

a. Type your text however you want it to read,

b. Choose the Font that you like, (as you scroll, your text changes

dynamically),

c. When you have entered your text, click the down arrow on the Size

and use the slider to enlarge the text to the width of the image,

d. If you want a second line with a different Font Size just click the Type

Tool again and click inside the image as before,

NOTE: ALT + 0169 = ©

To type the “©” symbol, first make sure that NUMLOCK is enabled on the

Numeric Keypad, Then hold the ALT key down and type 0169 on the keypad

6. Use the Crop Tool and crop the image to the dimensions of your text,

7. Save your logo to your hard drive; I named it “watermark”,

Click the dropdown to change the file extension to “.PNG” to keep the

background transparent,

8. Now click on Edit >> Define Brush,

9. Now click File >> Open Image and choose your photo to watermark,

10. Now with your photo open:

a. Click on the “Brush Tool”,

b. Click the brush palette dropdown on the Menu Bar,

c. Choose the watermark brush at the end of the list,

11. Your “Brush” now becomes the watermark image that you can apply to

your photo:

a. You can change the Size,

b. You can change the Color,

c. You can change the Opacity,

d. And if you apply it to a new layer, you can change the Blend Mode.

12. Now save your image with the watermark and exit PIXLR

13. When you want to watermark another image,

a. Open PIXLR, Choose PIXLR Editor >> Launch Web App,

b. This time choose “Open image from computer”,

c. Open your .PNG watermark image,

d. Now as before, click on Edit >> Define Brush,

e. Open the image you want to watermark,

f. Click on the “Brush Tool”,

g. Click the brush palette dropdown on the Menu Bar,

h. Choose the watermark brush at the end of the list and apply it to

your image.
