You will need a Zoom account

• Go to zoom.us

• Click on the SIGN UP button…

• You will be asked to give your birthday, give them an Emailaddress, a Password, etc

• Zoom will then send you a confirmation email with a link.

• Click on that link to activate your Zoom account.

Then you need to download Zoom

• Go to zoom.us/download

• Click on the Download button…

• After Zoom has downloaded, you will need to start it up.

• Enter your Email address and Password, and then click the Sign in button.

Each time you start the Zoom app, you will see something like this

• You can enter a Zoom meeting by clicking the Join button and then entering your Meeting ID and Password.

• So where do I get my meeting ID and Password?

You will receive an email invitation

It will have

• The time and dateof the meeting

• It will look like the invitation to the right…

The easiest way to Join the meeting…

• Your email invitation will contain a line that says Join Zoom Meeting, which is followed by a link.

• That link looks like this:– http://Yavapai.zoom.us/... etc

• At the time and date of the meeting, just open that email and click on that link to join the meeting.

• That link already has your meeting ID and an encrypted Password built into it!

When you first join with a computer…

• When you click on that link, you will see a video frame of yourself pop up on your screen!

• Click on the button that says Join with Video.

Then you wait…

• You will then enter the “Waiting Room” where you will be asked to wait a few moments for the host to let you into the meeting.

When the host lets you in…

• When the host lets you into the meeting, you will see this pop up on your screen.

• Click on the button that says Join with Computer Audio and you will enter the meeting.

After you enter the meeting…• When you actually enter the meeting, you will see

some “video windows” on your screen. • If you are the first person to Join the meeting, you will

see the facilitator plus yourself.• As additional people arrive, new video windows will

pop up.• Notice the buttons across the bottom of the screen

Those buttonsacross the bottom of the screen…

• After you have joined the meeting, you might see three buttons across the bottom of your screen.

• If you don’t see them, drag your cursor to the bottom of the screen, and they will pop up.

The Participants button

• The Participants button will add a list of all the people who have joined, onto the right end of the videos.

The Share Screen button• As the meeting progresses, you might be invited to show everyone

something on your computer with your Share Screen button.• Clicking on the Share Screen button shows you all the things that

you can share - each in its own little box, as shown below.• Click on the box that you want to share, and then click on the Share

button in the lower-right corner of the screen.

You will then see a window with a green border around it.

• That green border shows you what everyone else is seeing on their screens.

How to Stop Sharing your screen

• When you are done sharing your screen with everyone, click the red [Stop Share] button along the top edge of the green box. (See below)

So, what’s that Reactions button for?

• When you click on the Reactions button, you will be given the choice to applaud what the speaker is saying, or give a thumbs up to what the speaker is saying. (No thumbs down!)

• When you click on either of these icons, it will pop up in the upper-left-hand corner of your own video, for everyone else to see, as the speaker is talking.

Want subtitles?

The Accessibility panel in the Zoom Settingswindow can be configured to provide subtitles.

When you are readyto leave the meeting…
