HOW TO KNOW WHAT JESUS THINKS

We need help in understanding the thinking of Jesus.

This is very important in the world in which we live.

John 14:16-17 “I will ask the Father, and he will give

you another Helper, who will stay with you forever.

He is the Spirit, who

reveals the truth about God. The world cannot receive

him, because it cannot see him or know him. But you know him, because

he remains with you and is in you.”

John 14:26 “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father

will send in my name, will teach you everything and

make you remember all that I have told you.”

John 16:12-14 “"I have much more to tell you, but now it would be too much

for you to bear. When, however, the Spirit comes,

who reveals the truth about God, He will lead you into

all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but He will speak of what

He hears and will tell you of things to come. He will give me glory, because He will

take what I say and tell it to you.”

1) The Spirit is our permanent in residence

teacher of the Scriptures.

When we place the Spirit in charge of our life the first thing He is going to do is reorient our thinking to the thinking of Jesus.

A person who does not have Christ as their Savior will NEVER

understand the Scriptures.

A disciple of Christ who does not rely on the

Spirit to lead them will not understand the

Scriptures.

When we prayerfully enter into a time of Bible study the Holy Spirit is always there to teach us what

Jesus thinks.

2) The Spirit is also our Transmitter of other truths we need to know.

“Whatever He hears, He will speak it to us.”

John 16:14 gives us the guidelines for special words, “And He will show you things to come. He will glorify Me;

for He will receive the things of mine and show them to you.”

These special times in the lives of His disciples lets us know that the Spirit is

able to teach us ALL things that the Lord wants us to

know.

3) The Spirit is our Reminder of what Jesus

taught His disciples. “make you remember all

that I have told you”

It is always AMAZING how the Spirit takes the Word and speaks its meaning to us at EXACTLY the

time we need it!

4) The Spirit is our Enabler to help us live the

Scriptures.

This is life at another level

Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians is my prayer for

you today:

Ephesians 1:17-19 “that the God of our Lord Jesus

Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of

wisdom and of revelation in

the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your

hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you,

what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the

saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his

great might.”
