CageIt must be large enough for him to make small flights.

Away from noise and T.V.

Protected from drafts and the sun.

Must have sticks with a rough surface (to facilitate the wear of the nails) and made of non toxic material (so that he can peck them).

FeederTolva types are the best because they always keep food dry.

DrinkerWater must be emptied daily for keeping it clean.

BathtubBirds enjoy playing with water.

After taking a bath, water must be taken away so that he doesn´t get contaminated with excretions.

Game accessoriesBells, ladders and swings.

Routine Care

Choosing a Vet He/she must be a birds specialist.

He/she must be available outside of working hours in case your bird has an emergency.

Interact with your birdConnect with him at least 30 minutes.

Talk, sing and caress him.

Nails trimmingYou´ll avoid having to cut his nails if you choose rough sticks that facilitate the nail´s wear.

But if they’re too long, it´s better to go to the vet to get them cut.

Beak trimmingJust like nails, the beak grows a lot in birds.

When he's captive he´s unable to wear it in a natural way.

Trimming his beak is essential so that he can eat and interact.

You must go to the vet for this.

Wing´s trimming.• It diminishes the flight, and therefore allows a  semi-free life inside home.•The vet must do this to avoid hurting him accidentally.
