There are two types of can liners:

1. High Density

2. Linear Low Density

HIGH DENSITY Can Liners are made from high molecular density resins and are best suited for the office, restroom, or any type of light or paper trash that does not include sharp edges that can tear or zipper the liner. High Density Trash Can Liners are usually less expensive per unit than Linear Low Density Can Liners.

LINEAR LOW DENSITY Can Liners are made from high quality resins that are highly resistant to puncturing and tearing from heavier or sharp objects. The exceptional strength and stretch of Linear Low Density Can Liners make them a great option for trash that may include glass, or sharp objects .

Both High Density and Linear Low Density Liners come in various sizes

High Density has a crisp feel and when trash forces itself against the liner High Density can zipper. 

Linear Low Density have a more rubbery feel and when trash forces itself against the liner it does not zipper but will stretch to accommodate the sharp or heavy object.
