12th cranial nerve is affected (hypoglossus) Spleen and gonads Arms Hands Jaws and face

The patient was a 6-year-old boy diagnosed with hypoglossia-hypodactylia syndrome at birth.

Speech therapy Orthodontic treatment. Compliance with an

orthodontics treatment plan is essential to prevent complications such as collapse of the bite especially if there are missing teeth.

Breathing assistance may be needed early in life

Generally patients can expect a good prognosis. Early management of problems with breathing, swallowing, feeding, speech as well as orthodontic management can enable a patient to lead a relatively normal life.
