2. Hurlock Classroom Study --- 1925

• 4th and 6th grade math students were studied over a 5 day period.

•Four groups:

• Took test and were publicly praised for good work (praised)• Took test and were publicly criticized for poor work (criticized)• Took test and received no feedback (ignored)• Took test and moved to another classroom. Given no feedback (control)

Over a 5 day period, each group was measured by how many math problemsthey solved…
