Quadriceps(4): Rectus femoris; vastus lateralis; vastus medialis;

vastus intermedius

Vastus intermedius: under rectus femoris: extends the leg

Hamstrings (3): biceps femoris, semitendinosus, semimembranosus:

extension of thigh, flexion of leg

Tibialis Anterior

• Dorsiflexion; foot inversion

• O: tibia• I: tarsal bones and

first metatarsal

Soleus

• Plantar flexion• O: tibia and fibula• I: calcaneus
