Increasingly, industry and residential (or other noise sensitive developments) are located much closer together as undeveloped land in close proximity to transportation infrastructure and to the major areas of commerce becomes scarcer.

It is therefore considered essential that potential environmental noise impacts associated with industrial developments be examined early, at the planning stage. This is most often a requirement imposed by regulatory and consent authorities.

TECHNICAL SERVICE

• Extensive noise measurement and modelling capability. These capabilities include sound intensity measurements, noise source identification, noise mitigation and management strategies, noise mapping and 3D noise modelling so as to identify the sound power levels of each contributing source and enable noise source ranking, allowing for the assessment of cost effective noise controls.

• Design of noise control solutions. These capabilities range from simple specifications for items such as acoustic doors and silencers to complete design services for projects including machine enclosures, silencers or acoustic treatments to buildings. Our engineers have an understanding of fundamental noise generating mechanisms and are able to provide advice on possible process modifications to allow for the reduction of noise at the source.
