ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

•    The Kota Kinabalu Courts comprised of 2 High Courts, 4 Sessions Courts, and 3 Magistrates' Courts. Of these three courts, the High Court is higher in hierarchy. In Kota Kinabalu courts there are provide one case management room for lower court.

• There are also special court which is pertaining with the case of traffic, corruption (Rasuah) and PATI (Illegal Immigrant)

• Other facilities such as a lockup, witness room, lower court registration office, registrar's office and library are also available.

• Two other courts which are higher than the High Court are the Court of Appeal Malaysia, and the Federal Court. However, they are based in Kuala Lumpur, and only hold circuit sittings in Kuching.

ble the court to resolve cases swiftly and smoothly.

• Ensure that courts have the human resources, finance, physical facilities, information technology equipment and services are adequate and appropriate for perform its functions and duties.

• Computerization of the courts

- Video/Telephone Conferencing System

- Virtual file system

- E-payment

• Mobile Court

• The staff and officer has mastered many aspect of laws and able to manage a wide variety of cases through division of work.

• Lack of High Court Judges• Lack of parking lot• Lack of space in the office for Magistrate and Sessions Court office• Lack of signboard and direction board• There is no specific room for practical/attachment students• No internet connection• Limited number of books in the library

• Able to know the procedure of the court• Able to meet with the Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak, Tan Sri

• Blackout• No internet connection within the court• Threat by a phone call - Royal Commission Inquiry (RCI)• Unable to understand fully on the certain procedure, this happen

when some subject I have not taken yet.

suggested solution to the problem

• Appointed more High Court Judges at Kota Kinabalu High Court• Get a parking lot • Add more books in the library• Create efficient direction board

WORK PROCESS & PROCEDURE

COMMENT

• The faculty should not just assigned the students to take their attachment at one place only.

• The faculty should prepare some important task or some form of target for the practical student to accomplish during their attachment. (Guideline)

• Attachment program is not enough if it is done just for one month.

suggestion

The faculty may make new approach for the upcoming law student

by assigning them to have for example, 2 weeks at the courts and

another 2 weeks at the attorney chambers.

The faculty should assign some specific task or standards to be achi

eve and define the scope of attachment program to the related orga

nization.

Prolonged the period of practical up to two or three month. Eg; Inter

national Islamic University of Malaysia does.
