Installing JAVA JRE Version 1.8.0_51

Open Oracle Financials using Internet Explorer and attempt to launch Oracle Forms

Install Pop Up will appear for JAVA JRE version 1.8.0_51

By clicking on the install another JAVA Pop up will appear

Click Install

The Installer process will begin

The Out of Date Java version will appear

Click Remind Me Later

If you do Click Uninstall, any out of data Java versions will be removed as well as the current install process of 1.8.0_51. Once the Uninstall process completes, you will need to start over again installing 1.8.0_51 and when you get to this point you would click Remind Me Later. Whichever route you take will work. If you leave the older versions, applications requiring JAVA should acknowledge the latest version it needs to function. Eventually, you would want to clean up older versions and keep the most up to date one for Security reasons.

Once you click Remind Me Later the install will complete

The Verify Java Version window will Pop up

Click Activate Java so you can see what Java versions are detected on your desktop

Click Allow Now and the detector will run

If you get a Pop up during this time or at any other times stating your Java is out of date, continue to select Later as you do not want to install anything higher than 1.8.0_51

In order to run the Java Detection, select Run

Finally you will be able to validate a successful installation of the 1.8._51 version. Again you do not want to move forward at this time w/ the later version 1.8.0_65

You can also validate your Java JRE version by opening up your Control Panel and Clicking on JAVA computer settings

Click About on the General Tab

On the Advanced Tab, you want to ensure ‘Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format’ is enabled
