Three major trends should mark years to come:

Gothic and contemporary; shapes that were in style in the

XVIII century

Dandysm; materials that are beautiful, rich, neat and romantic

Fantasizing; a trend highlighting the fantastic, « frosted

objects, silver, black or bleached crystal »..it is a world of imagination.

A new way of conceiving furniture and objects by reducing the use of all resources (human, economical, industrial and urban).

The philosophy of « Slow Design » encourages the individual, sociocultural and environmental well-being, as well as the long termvision.

Slow Design is ecologically, socially, and equitably responsible.

This category shuns perfection by showing signs of wear and manufacturing : the « raw wood» furniture and the objects with visible welds are very representative.

« SLOW DESIGN » makes use of driftwood. Itconsists of logs that were transported by riversand oceans over a long period before they runashore. « Silver and crystal (black or bleached » ...it’s the world of imagination).

Hues of enhanced colors to reflect optimism and the quest for a better future.

Over the last few years, Canadiens have been reactingto a rather uncertain economical, political and environmental climate by choosing neutral, warm and comforting colors, such as browns and beige. Today, people are tired of pessimism and are looking for changes and a fresh start.

Signs of joy and extravagance will be highlighted.

The and whites, intense colors such as dark reds and purples, the vividness of blues, greens and pastels,rich in color pigments such as blue and light pink, and earth tones such as gold and clay will definitelybe predominent in 2011.
