Interlibrary Loan

InterLibrary is the process through which one library requests material from, or supplies material to,

another library.

What is INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL)?

Your library’s InterLibrary Loan Department

can borrow from or lend to other local, state, national and international

libraries.

How does INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) work? You’ve searched…

…but the item you need is not available.

…and let the Georgia College Library ILL Office do the searching!

Create your own INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) account …

1. Go to http://www.gcsu.edu/library

Follow these steps to create your ILL account in ILLiad.

2. Select Interlibrary Loan/ILLiad from the “Find Articles” menu on the left

3. Next, click “Interlibrary Loan Request Form”.

4. Log in with existing username and password…

…or, create an account if you are a new ILLiad user.

You have successfully logged in to ILLiad!

Now you can see the types of items you may request through ILL.

You may also check the status of your requests.

Select an item type from the menu on the left to create and submit a new request. Provide as much information as

possible about the item.

Click “Submit Request” after you finish completing the form.

Your request has been received by the ILL Department!

You may now track the status of your outstanding request(s)

by Transaction Number (TN).

Log in to ILLiad and select “Outstanding Requests” from the menu on the left to check

changes in the status of your request.

You will receive email notification from the ILL Office when your request is available.

Check your Georgia College email account for ILL messages.

Your username for ILLiad is: my_illiad.

If you have any questions about this service, please e-mail us at ilsreq@gcsu.edu or call us at 478-445-0975.

Log in to ILLiad from here.

If you requested an article or book chapter, select “Electronically Received Articles”

from the menu on the left. Now you can retrieve your article!

If you requested a book or any other type of loan item, you will receive email notification when the request is available. You may pick up your item at the Georgia College Library

Circulation Desk.

Q: When will my requests be available?

A: ILL article requests are usually available within two business days. Books and other loan items may take

longer.

Q: I live off campus. Can I still use interlibrary loan?

A: Yes! Please call (478) 445-0975 or 445-8112, or email ilsreq@gcsu.edu to arrange item pick-up or delivery.
