WHY ITALYITALY
ITALY because this country hasbeen the cradle of many Europeancultures, such as the Etruscans andthe Romans, later was the birthplaceof the university and of theRenaissance, that began in Tuscanyand spread all over Europe. Italy'scapital, Rome, was for centuries thecenter of Western civilization.
ITALY because the climate is highlydiverse and can be far from thestereotypical Mediterranean climatedepending on the location.
ITALY because of its many famouscities, well known all over the worldsuch as: Rome, Florence, Milan,Turin, Genoa, Venice and Napleswith their beautiful landscapes andmuseums.

EASY TO REACH
WHY ITALYITALY
The country is easy to reach and requires less expenses to travel, considering the travelers from Asian,American or European continents. There are many low-cost flight companies that have connection to Milan. For European participants there are more than few ways to reach Milan: car, bus or Fast train.
Milan will offer a vast diversity of prices as for the accommodation as for the meals, and this is a greatadvantage for young scientists and for emerging scholars from low-income countries.
Regarding the city transport is well priced and because of the city proportions one could easy walk from onedestination to another if choose so. The participants will have also in their hands an open and free of costmuseum. The city is full of historical treasures that are accessible for anyone at any time without stepping afoot into museums.
The participants will not have a communication problems: many Milanese speaks English, German, French,Spanish at least.

LAKE COMO (1 DAY)
In 1818 Percy Bysshe Shellev wrote: "This lake exceeds anything I ever beheld in beauty, with theexception of the arbutus islands of Killarney. It is long and narrow, and has the appearance of a mightyriver winding among the mountains and the forests".
Lake Como, also known as Lario, is a lake of glacial origin in Lombardy. It has an area of 146 km², makingit the third largest lake in Italy. At over 400 m (1320 ft) deep it is one of the deepest lakes in Europe andthe bottom of the lake is more than 200 metres (656 ft) below sea-level.
Lake Como has been a popular retreat for aristocratsand wealthy people since Roman times, and a verypopular tourist attraction, which boasts many artisticand cultural gems. VERONA & LAKE GARDA (2 DAYS/1 NIGHT)
The southern section of the lake, embraced by the gentleslopes of the Riviera of Olives, looks decidedlyMediterranean, however, just a few kilometers northwhere Mountain Baldo rises above it, it completelychanges character and turns into a narrow fiord.
Verona a city in Veneto, northern Italy, home to approx. 265.000inhabitants and one of the seven provincial capitals of the region :recently awarded the status of a “World Heritage Site” is love at firstsight, and will entice you to come back and explore it thoroughly. For the past two thousand years and more, the city walls enclose aunique and breathtaking range of art-works and monuments: afascinating cross-roads of historical periods and cultures (both classicaland Germanic), a blend of both Nordic and "Mediterranean" influences;the city is at the same time both ancient and modern.
Shaped by the last Ice Age, Lake Garda hasalways fascinated its visitors, is the biggest andthe most typical of all of the pre-alpine lakes. Its particular shade of sky-blue and the variedlandscape which surrounds it has made itunforgettable.
