“Where” means ‘in what place’Where do you live? (In what place do you live?)Where do you go? (To what place do you go?)Where shall I keep the umbrella?Where did you throw your books?

‘Whereabouts’ means ‘the place where somebody or something is.My brother’s whereabouts are still unknown. (here we may use singular verb ‘is’)

‘Where–as’ is used to compare or contrast two facts.Some of the students responded positively, whereas others did not.

‘whereby’ means by which, because of which.Our English teacher had explained the concept in a new method whereby the students could understand better.

‘wherever’ means in any place.Some people carry happiness wherever they go.

‘whereupon’ means and then; as a result of this.He told her she was a liar, whereupon, she walked out.

‘wherein’ means ‘in which place’, ‘in what way’It’s a best swimming pool where you can learn swimming.
