Brazil, Argentina & Chile
Best of Argentina & Brazil
ITINERARy... Day 1 Rio de Janeiro It will be hard not to
get caught up in Rio’s passion on an orientation walk around
this heaving metropolis, set against the luminescent green
of Guanabara Bay and surrounded by the slopes of Sugarloaf
Mountain and Corcovado. Days 2-3 Paraty Spend a free
morning exploring Rio then travel to Paraty, one of the world’s
best preserved Portuguese colonial towns. Stroll through Paraty’s
streets and explore the bay’s secluded beaches by boat. Days 4-5
sao Paulo/Iguazu Falls Travel to Sao Paulo to take a flight to
Iguazu Falls. Meaning ‘great waters’ in the Tupi-Guarani tongue,
the falls are a spectacular testament to nature’s grandeur. View
them from the Brazilian side for breathtaking panoramas before
heading to the Argentinean side to get up close to the power of
the thundering waters. Days 6-8 Buenos Aires Discover the Latin
passion and European elegance that make Buenos Aires one of
the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Days 9-10 Bariloche Set
high in the snow-capped Andes, Bariloche is the ideal mountain
retreat. Sample its range of fine dining options and save room for
its handmade chocolates - a specialty in this area. Days 11-12
Mendoza Head to the beautiful city of Mendoza and learn about
winemaking on a tour of a local vineyard. Don’t forget to sample
some Malbec - the region’s signature wine variety. Days 13-15
santiago Journey to Santiago, a city set amid the stunning
backdrop of dramatic snowy peaks. Why not admire Santiago on a
cable car ride? On a clear day, the view is simply breathtaking.
ITINERARy... Days 1-2 Buenos Aires Take a walk around the
cosmopolitan city streets and sample local fare along the way. Meat
lovers will go wild over the famous Argentinean steaks, while those
with a sweet tooth will delight in the caramel sandwiched cookie-
like treats, called alfajores. Stay up late to dance the sensual tango
in a musical milonga or shop up a storm in elegant boutiques.
Days 3-4 Iguazu Falls Discover the jaw-dropping magnitude of
Iguazu Falls, where tropical flowers, colourful butterflies and misty
rainbows all add to the magic of this spectacular destination. The
might roar of the falls is deafening, so be prepared to be blown
away by witnessing the power of nature in action. Admire the
falls from both the Brazilian and Argentinean side or, for those
wanting a different perspective, why not try a boat tour of the
falls, which offers up close views? Days 5-6 sao Paulo/Paraty
Explore the old Portuguese port town of Paraty, strolling around its
cobblestone streets, petite boutiques, art galleries and flourishing
courtyard gardens. A boat trip to the nearby islands is a relaxing
way to spend the day and an excellent chance to splash about in
the clear, temperate waters of the bay. Days 7-8 Rio de Janeiro
There is plenty to see and do in flamboyant, rambunctious Rio de
Janeiro. Check out the views from the feet of Christ the Redeemer
atop Corcovado, or why not head to the top of Sugarloaf by cable
car? For some seriously eye-popping people watching, head down
to the white-sand beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. The only
way to truly experience this city is to try to keep up with it!

Classic Brazil
Best of Brazil & Argentina
ITINERARy... Day 1 Rio de Janeiro Between the white-sand
beaches, the rhythm of samba and the lush mountain hideaways,
Rio is bewitching. Get acquainted with the sights and learn why
locals say, “God made the world in six days, the seventh he devoted
to Rio”. The beach is the perfect place for people-watching. Join the
flocks of tanned cariocas (residents of Rio) that head to the beach to
swim, bake, play games or pose. Days 2-3 Iguazu Falls Stretching
almost three km in length, the incredible power of mighty Iguazu
will take your breath away. Spend two days exploring both the
Argentinean and Brazilian sides of the falls, admiring their sheer
scale and vast panoramic splendour. Be prepared to get wet,
as the prolific torrents of water gushing through Iguazu don’t
discriminate! Days 4-6 Pantanal/campo Grande The Pantanal
plain is the world’s largest wetland area and home to a vast array
of wildlife including monkeys, anacondas, lizards and otters. This
sanctuary hosts a diverse range of creatures, so there’s plenty of
opportunity to view the many different species that coexist here.
Enjoy a tour of the area, birdwatching and exploring the bountiful
wetlands. Spend the night sleeping in a hammock - an authentic
experience to remember. Days 7-8 Rio de Janeiro Return to
raucous Rio for a final night on the town. Head out into this electric
city and toast the adventure with a fresh caipirinha, bust a move in
a hot and heady dance hall or sample street food delights. Why not
take the hedonistic approach and indulge in all three? Rio is more
than happy to oblige!
ITINERARy... Day 1 Rio de Janeiro Arrive early and climb
aboard Brazil’s last historic streetcar for a clattering journey up to
bohemian Santa Teresa, or discover shady avenues lined with lush
cafes and smouldering jazz bars in flash Ipanema. Pay a visit to
Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado for unforgettable views over
the city. Perhaps wind down with Rio’s iconic cocktail - a caipirinha.
Days 2-3 Paraty Originally settled in 1531, and once a booming
port town famous for its cachaca (sugar cane liquor), Paraty was all
but forgotten after the abolition of slavery. Today, it is a national
monument and its cobblestone, pedestrian-only streets are a
romantic place for a leisurely stroll. Explore the beautiful bay and its
many islands on a scenic boat trip, stopping to swim and snorkel in
the warm, crystal-clear ocean. Days 4-5 sao Paulo/Iguazu Falls
Get swept up in the majesty of the mighty Iguazu Falls, enjoying
the panoramic views from the Brazilian side, then strolling along
the Argentinean boardwalks for an up close look at the thundering
water. Uncover the history, legend and geology of this remarkable
site. Days 6-8 Buenos Aires Explore the many districts of Buenos
Aires, getting to know the distinct character and style of each
one. San Telmo is the home of tango and is popular for its artists
and weekend markets. La Boca, settled by waves of immigrants,
is known for its brightly painted buildings and murals, while the
Microcentro, with its churches, cathedrals and old buildings, is the
undisputed historic heart. Stop in one of the city’s many cafes for a
super-strong espresso and a chance to meet the locals.

Argentineans affectionately call it ‘Salta the Pretty’. Days 15-17
Mendoza Wander through bountiful, sun-kissed vineyards and

Galapagos Island AdventuresUntouched by human civilisation until the early 19th century and instrumental in the formulation of Darwin's Theory of Evolution, the Galapagos Islands remain a natural paradise teeming with flora and fauna. A voyage to this unique archipelago is surely one of the highlights of any visit to Latin America.
ISLA SANTA FE
Home to a colony of sea lions, it's possible to swim with these magnificent animals. You can also
explore mangroves and hike through a forest of prickly pears to the cliffside domain of land iguanas.
ISLA ESPANOLA
This island is a nesting site to what is virtually the entire world population of waved albatross – more
than 12,000 pairs. They can be seen here during nesting season from April to December. Ruggedly
beautiful, this island is home to large numbers of bird species, marine iguanas and sea lions.
ISLA FLOREANA
In the 18th century, a wooden barrel was planted here to be used as a post office. Passing ships
would stop to collect any mail destined for ports on their itineraries and crews would deliver the mail
by hand. Here visit Punta Cormorant, home to a jade-green volcanic beach.
ISLA SANTA CRUZ
The most populated of all the islands, Santa Cruz is also home to the Charles Darwin Research
Station. Visit a nursery that cares for young tortoises until their shells have hardened.
ISLA RABIDA
On the dark red volcanic sands of Isla Rabida, you'll find sea lions and birdlife galore, as well as
pelicans nesting among bushes. A trail leads to a lagoon, where flamingos are often seen wading.
ISLA BARTOLOME
Amid stark volcanic landscapes you’ll see crabs, pelicans, doves and even the rare Galapagos
penguins. The panorama from the summit is one of the best in the islands.
ISLA NORTH SEYMOUR
Seymour is home to the region's largest frigatebird colony and there may be an opportunity to see
the elaborate mating ritual of this species.
ISLA SAN CRISTOBAL
Home to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the capital of the Galapagos. View incredile wildlife such as
frigatebirds, sea lions and turtles - and the largest freshwater lake in the archipelago, Laguna El Junco.
ISLA ISABELA
The biggest island in the archipelago, Isla Isabela holds the largest tortoise population in the
Galapagos. Here, you can hike volcanic landscapes and view convict-built remnants.
ISLA GENOVESA
Home to colonies of rare bird species and sea lions, Isla Genovesa provides plenty of opportunity to
spot exotic wildlife. The cove of Darwin Bay is also a great location for snorkelling.
ISLA BALTRA
The gateway to the Galapagos, Isla Baltra is home to the main airport of the Galapagos Islands and is
used as a launching pad when travelling to other islands in the region.
1. You must pay a US$100 (cash) Galapagos park entry fee plus a US$10 Transit Control Card fee upon arrival to the islands. This is subject to increase.
2. Itinerary and prices are based on first-class boats and will vary depending on which boat is available at the time.
3. The confirmed itinerary may change due to weather conditions.
4. A non-refundable deposit of 20 per cent of the trip price is required at time of booking (or full payment within 65 days of departure).
5. Flights to and from Guayaquil are also available, usually at a lower price than flights to and from Quito.
