CBF Small Groups

What is Discipleship?

1. It’s not just about a series of lessons.

2. It’s not just about taking notes.

What it is not...

3. It is not just another “school.”4. It is not a pyramiding scam

1. It is about building relationships.

It is the command of Christ that all His true followers follow.

(Matthew 28:18-20)

“If you love me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15)

2. It’s about connecting to people and helping one another to follow Christ.

3. It’s about enjoying and loving God and other people.

4. It is about developing long-term relationships

5. It’s about influencing others by our life and our teachings.

6. It has to be intentional

7. It is linking together healthy relationships

8. It’s about growing together

Eating together

Jesus, Paul, Peter and the early church did the best discipleship the world has ever

seen, and they didn’t have a classroom, they had relationships.

It’s not just a system or classroom activity, it is a spirit of mentoring and building relationships with others for

Christ.

Relationships + Doing Ministry Together = Discipleship

A. It can be informal meet-ups (without lessons)

Text, support, care, visit, eating together, travelling together, doing assignments etc. Etc.

B. It can be formal (with lessons)

Bible studies, CBF large groups, sharing to others the Word of

God together

Again, it’s all about building relationships with God and

People.
