Introduction of IAEP Program

School of Auditing and Accounting CHEN Yanjiao

1. Nanjing Audit University (NAU) is the first in China to be the Internal Auditing Education

Partnership Program (IAEP).

NAU joined IIA (International Internal Auditors) in September, 2007, to be one of the cooperation universities with IAEP.

The only one in China.

From 2014, the source was from all the students in NAU.

3. Participation in the IIA annual meeting

The students went to Orlando, America, from October 26 to 28, 2007, to participate in the Leaders of Student Organizations and Association Ability Fraternity” (First session).

The meeting invited all IAEP partnership institutions in the world. There were 18 universities and colleges and 45 students present. In addition, also present were over 20 executives from transnational companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, Microsoft, US Southwest Airlines, Wells Fargo, and Penney department stores, etc.

After that since 2008, every year our institute sent groups to participate.

Our students in the IAEP annual meetings organized by IIA in Orlando, America.

5. Prof. Gerrit, with Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands, visited School of International Audit.

Erasmus University of Rotterdam, built in 1913, is one of the five elite-level (the highest level) schools under the IIA IAEP project. It is a public university, which ranks on the top of the list in the world.

In 2010,Mr. Richard, an experienced audit training expert, was invited to teach Fraud Audit to 2007 IAEP elite classes, totalling 48 class hours.

Mr. Richard has many years of working experience in the four firms, while in China he has more than five years experience in audit training.

6) Jiang Taorong, with Schwab Bank of America, giving a lecture

On the afternoons of Nov. 10th and 11th, 2009, Ms. Jiang Taorong, with the University of Chicago MBA and current US Schwab Bank Risk Management Department, was invited to give a lecture to IAEP elite class students on "Financial Markets and Risk Management."

7) Mark Konings, Dutch ASML Internal Audit Supervisor, had academic exchanges.

Discussed the current situation and development prospect of Internal Audit

Mr. Konings, graduated from the University of Amsterdam, is the Internal Audit Supervisor of ASML, Netherlands; and he is currently in charge of the company's business in mainland China.

6. Exchange students of IAEP institutions

1) Every year we send IAEP elite class students to Pretoria University, South Africa, to study a year (free of tuitions).

2) We cooperated with Pisa University, Italy

Every year we send 5 IAEP elite class students to Pisa University, Italy to study for a year.

3) Overseas exchange students in NAU

Every semester IAEP elite class students are ready to welcome elite class students from other countries.

9. Notes

1) English proficiency is required (10 courses are in English)

2) Communication ability is important (in class and foreign exchanges).

3) More time and trouble should be devoted.

4) The competition is fierce. 5) Decision should be made after more

understanding of Internal Audit.
