Introduction:

As part of your pre-lab, you must write-up your own introduction for this lab. Please use your notebooks, text book, and/or research the internet to address the following inquiries (be sure to explain them in your introduction section.

-What is cellular respiration and what uses it.-What is fermentation and what uses it.-How are cellular respiration and fermentation similar and different.-What process do yeast cells undergo (aerobic respiration or fermentation). -What is needed for either process.-What is produced as a result of these processes.-How will temperature effect the rate of fermentation.

In this lab activity, you will be measuring the amount of CO2 produced during yeast fermenta-tion at different temperatures. You will formulate a hypothesis, organize your data, and write a formal lab report after your lab meeting.

Also, be sure you understand the meaning and use of the following terms.

aerobic, anaerobic, ATP, cellular respiration, fermentation
