AGENDA

“What we are doing today is of historic importance. The United Nations’ cooperation in Ecuador has certainly been appreciated, but the results and impact are more substantial when this cooperation is thoroughly coordinated with our National Plan; this is what makes it special and characteristic”, affirmed Ricardo Patiño, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility.

Diego Zorrilla mentioned that the United Nations System in Ecuador is proposing to strengthen institutional capacity, as well as to develop personnel skills, which will allow State institutions to achieve the commitments assumed in the National Plan of Buen Vivir.

.

IOM personnel assumed the task of filling out forms, coordinating medical appointments for applicants’ evaluations and performed criminal background checks in Colombia.

The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness on human trafficking, prevention measures and role of community defenders on this issue.
