APIC IP Assessment

This is a tool to help you assess the resource needs of your infection prevention and

control program. The intent is to determine where your resources are currently spent

and areas needing more attention. The purpose is to provide an overview of the

responsibilities and needs of your program to administration. It is recommended that

you complete the top portion to describe your facility and then assess how resources

are utilized by assigning the estimated number of hours per week on the various job

functions during the past 6 months. Those job functions with an asterisk received a

high score in the 2005 Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc

(CBIC) Job Task Analysis, indicating they were high priority activities by Infection

Preventionists who completed the CBIC survey.
