Ismail Khayat:• 1944 - Born in Khanaken, Iraqi Kurdistan.

• 1965 - Member of Iraqi Artist Association.

• 1966 - Graduated from the Teachers institute – Bakkoba.

• 1970 - Member of Iraqi Artist Syndicate.

• 1980 - Member of International Association of Art.

• 1991 – Retired after 24 years in education service in sulaymania.

• 1992 – Head of impressionist art at the Ministry of Culture (Iraqi Kurdistan Government).

• 1998 – Artist supervisor in Impressionist Art – Arts activities – in Sulaymania to date.

• 1966 – 2003 set-up 33 art exhibition in Baghdad; Sulaymania; Arbil& Dihok.

• 1965 – 2003 Participated in 65 Group exhibition in Baghdad; Mousil; Basra and the Kurdistan cities of Sulaymania; Arbil; Dihok and international exhibition in Damascus; Jordan; Paris; Japan; Swede; Russia and eastern Europe&South Korea.

• His artwork can be found in Japan; Norway; Denmark; Austria; Holland; Philippine; U.S.A; France; Germany; Switzerland; Belgium; U.K and other countries.

• Designed decoration for various Kurdish theatres, and for children nurseries, also designed the cover for 40 Kurdish books.

Ismail Khayat:• Have numerous sketches in Kurdistan Press and Iraqi news papers and magazines.

• 25 of his artwork selected by the Iraqi National Museum, and 7-8 of his artwork displayed permanently by the museum as part of Iraqi Artist works.

• 5 of his art work printed on T-Shirts in colours and 5 on Postcard size in colours and distributed in Japan, and played a vital role with other artists in art activities in sulymania and in conveying Kurdistan children’s painting to Children’s International Exhibitions in turn they won several golden; silver and bronze medals and accredited certificates.

• In constant contact with international museum for children’s artwork in Oslo, and managed to send 100pieces of Sulymania children’s art work to participate in this museum.

• Accredited with certificate in international exhibition for printed miniature in Seoul-South Korea in 1992.

• Participated in the special seminar under the title (Civil life in Iraqi Kurdistan) in Washington- U.S.A in 2001, through an invitation from Kurdish Institute in Washington.
