What is ISO 14001?
The worlds first environmental management systems standard was publish
1992BS 7750
In 1993 ISO set up a new technical committee to develop an international
BS 7750 as a basis.
ISO 14001 was first published in 1996 and went through a revision in 2004
changes were made
In 2011 the 2ndperiodic review of ISO 14001 commences
Worldwide there are approximately 267,000 companies certified against ISO

What will the changes mean for organizations?
No action is necessary or required by clients until the revision has been pubfinal amendments are known
Once the new version of ISO 14001 has been published, clients will need tothe new standard
This will involve revising their processes and documentation in line with therequirements
Historically, clients have a 2 year period to transition to the new standard, hdetails will not be available until after the new standard has been published
