AUDITÓRIO 1

13 ABRIL 2015

Even though public policies and opinions are rapidly changing, serious mental health issues for LGBT people remain. These disparities exist within a historical context that castigated LGBT individuals as immoral, aberrant, and deviant.Weaving the past with the present, this lecture explores emerging LGBT global social and policy changes (e.g., same-sexmarriage) and their potential impact on LGBT mental health, clinical treatment, and wellbeing. Moreover, the roleof clinical training is examined as both a causative or ameliorative factor in addressingLGBT mental health disparities.
