IT Telehealth Center for Telecytopathology
This is an overview for the MarkPap® Digital Networking
System
What is IT Telehealth Center for Telecytopathology
The Center is an IT communication medical device for telemedicine in pathology/telecytopathology.
Telecytopathology means medical diagnosis of microscopic specimens at distance.
IT Telehealth Center Concept
The Center should provide telecytopathology services to national and international customers who may found these services more affordable than to build their own infrastructure for cervical cancer screening and other in vitro diagnostic procedures amenable for digital imaging.
With 2 billion women at risk for cervical cancer worldwide, the future of telecytopathology concept is warranted.
Hierarchical system of development
The Center is developing as a hierarchical
System starting from:
• Local Center
• Regional and State Center
• Global Center

The Three Components
There are three components of the local Center:
1. Image Acquisition Unit(s) (IAU)
2. Processing Center (Image Collection Unit, ICU)
3. Image Evaluation Unit(s) (IEU)
IAU are located in remote laboratories and hospitals. ICU is located in Maryland Local Center and IEU are located in hospitals, laboratories or offices in Maryland.
The Three Components, cont.
IAU is composed of a microscope with a digital camera mounted on the microscope, and a specific customized software for capturing and transmitting microscopic images.
CPU, the Central Processing Unit, has servers for collecting and storing microscopic images and other data.
IEU is a computer where pathologists retrieve images and other pertinent information and provide a result that is sent back in the form of a Report.
All information is secured.

MarkPap Global Networking Center
The Global Center will be responsible for QC/QA, customer service for difficult and rare cases, consultations, education, control of other centers for compliance with the protocols and polices, change of protocols if needs require. The Global Center will also be responsible for the entire network, finances and business deals. This Center will be located in Maryland.
World Needs
Cervical cancer was the major killer of women with malignant disease. This history has changed for countries where Pap test is available. However, because of lack of qualified personnel, only 10% of world women population is protected. The WHO and all governments are looking for affordable services to overcome this shortage. Telehealth offers the best solution
Benefits the Center brings to the local community
• New infrastructure: a new facility and equipment microscopes, digital cameras, computers monitors, servers
• New jobs: Immediately 5 with estimated growth to 25
• Retaining existing jobs: ( manufacturing remains in the US)
• New services: 1 million revenue per annum from services
• Taxable income• Clean technology – telemedicine All these requirements are core values that President Obama is
promoting to help revive our economy and main criteria for funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Cooperation
• The proposed IT Telehealth Center is multipotential system that can be used for research, IT software development and application with services both in IT, education and health area.
• The Center will cooperate with the government, for-profit and non-profit entities providing to them unique expertise for improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare, health education and health polices.
