Crash Analysis

Crashes

• Right angle crashes are overrepresented at rural STOP controlled intersections.

• Most of the fatal crashes are stop and proceed.

• Strategies to address include use of ITS technologies.

Traditional Safety Strategies

• Improve Geometry– Partial and full grade separation on expressways

• Enhance traditional signsand markings

• Install street lights
