What is an ‘enhanced publication’?

“…a publication that is enhanced with research data, extra materials, post

publication data, database records (e.g. the Protein Data Bank), and that

has an object-based structure with explicit links between the objects. In this

definition an object can be (part of) an article, a data set, an image, a

movie, a comment, a module or a link to information in a database.”

(Woutersen-Windhouwer & Brandsma, 2009: 20)
