We have been wishing for Spring and have been rewarded with lots of rain, to ease the past years
drought, and the blooming of Daffodils, grape hyacinths and all the Bradford Pear trees so far.
Redbuds are not far behind. Retired life member, Willie Polk, has spent this time to make and donate
six walker caddies to area senior facilities! The area care center residents and staff greatly appreciate
these caddies. Now Willie is anxious for the start of golf season and the warmer weather!
We have received many thank you’s from the organizations we presented checks to at our February
28th Year End Celebration. They appreciated the donations and it seems they enjoyed hearing about
each other’s organizations as much as we did!
We are sad to report the passing of Sponsors, RuthAnn Steiner, wife of Ray Steiner, and Jacqueline
Heady. Our thoughts and prayers for the families of these 2 special ladies.
Elaine Stevens welcomed her second grandson, Theodore in March. He looks like a precious addition
to their family.
Member Lisa King’s son, Ryan (far right), took a Spring Break trip to LA with the Bartlesville Bruin Band
members. They enjoyed visits to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Santa Monica Pier and Sony Studios.
They also did a Band Clinic at Disneyland and made a recording of some Disney Music to bring home!
We have sponsored a girls’ basketball team from Southeastern OSU in Durant for the past 12 years at
the GAC Tournament. Sandy Mason has chaired this project every year. This was the final year for
Bartlesville to host this tournament. The team presented Sandy with a Plaque of Appreciation for
everything she and her helpers have done for them. Coaches Haylie Ragsdale and Darin Grover did
the presentation along with the entire team! Thank you, Sandy.

Kathy reporting:
Spring has come to our area: the trees are budding, grass is
green, azaleas and blue bonnets are blooming. This is one of
my favorite times of the year when it is pleasant just to be
outside.

United Way – Women Who Rock Fundraiser
On March 1st, a group of CPChem women attended the
United Way Women Who Rock luncheon at the
Woodlands Marriott Waterway Hotel. The event was a
fundraiser to empower young moms to continue their
education through the United Way’s Young Mother’s Child
Care Scholarship which underwrites child care for
deserving young women who are committed to pursuing
secondary education. The featured speaker was writer,
entertainer, blogger, and vlogger Melissa Radke, who has
a dedicated social following because of her honest
approach to motherhood, paired with her sincerity and
one-of-a-kind sense of humor. Her best-selling book, Eat
Cake. Be Brave chronicles her hilarious, heartbreaking and
inspiring journey as she learns to stand up for herself in a
world of naysayers. Pictured above (left to right) are Dee
