The History

The cave was founded by local farmer, Jayamenawi, in 1802

It’s named after a pair of parallel Jati treeswhich were founded in front of the cave

Others said that the name came after the history ofRaden Kamandaka, well known as “Lutung Kasarung”, which came from west java.

The Legend of “Lutung Kasarung”Jatijajar cave was believed as the place where he transformed his body from human into monkey in order to pursue his love
