JESUS DIVINE MERCY(Devotion . Message)

Never before in the history of the Church had a painting appeared under the mandate of the same God and in which he descends to grant extraordinary graces.

In 1931, in Poland, Jesus appears to a Polish nun named Sister Faustina Kowalska, and He Himself asked her to paint an Image, as she could see Him and gave her a message for all humankind, He told her that this was the time of mercy, that no one should fear to get near Him, that He would forgive anything as long as they truly repented and attended the court of His mercy (the confessional).

He gave her a prayer: the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, it says: “The souls that say this chaplet will be embraced by My mercy during their lifetime and especially at the hour of their death. (Diary, 754) By means of this Image I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul have access to it. (Diary, 570) This Image is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy, because even the strongest faith is of no avail without works. (Diary, 742)

Jesus called at 3:00 pm "The Hour of Mercy" because it was the hour of His death. At this hour, the grace for the whole world was established. Mercy triumphed over justice.At this hour it is necessary to worship and praise the Divine Mercy and implore the necessary graces for everyone, especially for the sinners.

Prayer should be addressed to Jesus, b) it must be made at three in the afternoon, c) it must be based on the merits of the Passion of Christ. Prayer must be in accordance with the Will of God, it must be done with faith and perseverance.

Trust is an essential element: “The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive” Diary, 1578) , “If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity”. (Diary, 1602)

The image represents the risen Savior who comes to bring peace through forgiveness of sins, the price of His death on the cross. The rays that come from the Heart of Jesus denote Blood and Water which sprang when pierced on the cross at the time of his death. Jesus told St. Faustina that the water symbolized the justification of souls and the blood, the life of souls.

The rays represent the Sacraments ... the Water, purification: the Sacrament of Penance and the Blood, Baptism and the Eucharist.

Therefore, the two rays in the Image of Mercy are an invitation to participate in the Sacraments often and thus distinguish between good and evil because temptations are big and come in disguise, if we don’t receive the Holy Communion frequently it is very likely that we may fall in evil without even noticing it.

In this Image, Jesus is presented in the dark because this way he shows us that outside of him there is darkness, sin and fear… He is the light, the way, the truth, whoever follows Him, will always have light.

CHAPLET OF THE DIVINE MERCY:

(a rosary with five decades is used)

1. Start with an Our Father, a Hail Mary and the Apostles Creed

Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,

and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,

who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried;

he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead;

he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;

from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the holy catholic Church,

the communion of saints,

the forgiveness of sins,

the resurrection of the body,

and life everlasting. Amen.

2. With the big beads corresponding to Our Father (once) say:

“Eternal Father,I offer you the Body and Blood,

Soul and Divinity,of Your Dearly Beloved Son,

Our Lord, Jesus Christ,in atonement for our sins

and those of the whole world”.

3. With the small beads correspond to the Hail Mary (ten times) say:

“For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,have mercy on us and on the whole world”.

4. When finishing the five decades of the Chaplet, we say three times:

“Holy God,Holy Mighty One,

Holy Immortal One,have mercy on us

and on the whole world”.

5. Closing Prayer:

“O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in You.”

(It is best if prayed at 3:00 o’clock. “The hour of Mercy”)
