Type in the url

and choose “Jewish

Studies.”

Then click on

the guide for this class.

Write down this url: http://libguides.ccny.cuny.edu/

Make your browser your research base – get the LibX Toolbar. When you click the toolbar icon, the ‘search’ box for the library catalog opens. Click “Links” to bring up the quick list of research tools:

What materials should I use and where should I look for them?

• BOOKS

• ARTICLES

• ESSAYS

• LIBRARY CATALOG

• DATABASES

• LITERARY CRITICISM

Start on the Library url you just wrote down:

http://libguides.ccny.cuny.edu/

Use the library catalog to find books and e-books, government documents and audio visual materials. When you enter the catalog from our web site, you enter the separate City College catalog.

A keyword search using Bible and Tobit produces listings which include both the text of Tobit itself and critical works on the book.

Google Scholar is a subset of Google that will provide scholarly research journals and books.

To go directly into the full text of content you find, go to Google Scholar from the “G” page link.

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use tool to help you collect, organize, and cite your research sources. It lives right where you do your work—in your web browser. Zotero.org

Download the software for your browser, and then drag and drop your citations into Zotero using the icon. When you have all your materials collected, highlight the list and pick a citation style – MLA is what you need for this class – and Zotero will do the formatting.
