1. Network

When living in a bad job market, if you do nothing else, make sure you network and then network some more. Many jobs are never actually posted or advertised

but are filled through word of mouth instead.

2. Use Social Media

Even with social media being as popular as it has ever been, there are many people that forget to utilize this tool during their employment search.

3. Think Remote Jobs

With the thousands of work-at-home job scams polluting the Internet, the idea of working from home is probably one that hasn’t been given much thought.

However, in bad job markets, working remotely from your home is a very viable option.

4. Alternative Opportunities

Consider picking up a temporary or freelance job. Additionally, to gain experience or skills, check out a desired organization and try volunteering or

applying for internships.

5. Get Creative

Use your creative juices to think of some new job search strategies to find a job, including creating community job search groups, holding networking parties,

or becoming an entrepreneur.
