Assignment History:Senior Engineering Project Manager: June, 2014 to Present - Managed a team of 6 consultants as the Senior Engineering Technical Subject Matter Expert to automate maintenance testing of Optical circuits (OC3 and above) within the National Transport NOC’s, utilizing Delphi auto-testing evolution on VZ Wireless FTTC circuits. The purpose of this project is to eliminate wait time on restoration of FTTC circuits. Key accomplishments include: dramatically improved MTTR times. Presented weekly project management updates related to deliverables and schedule to senior project executives.

May, 2014 to May, 2015 - Led a team of Stakeholders on a Lean Six Sigma Project to eliminate Unnecessary/Redundant Dispatches to the Field for VZ Wireless facilities.The purpose of this project was to increase diagnostic accuracy on truck rolls and eliminate unnecessary overtime expenses. Key accomplishments included: Savings of more than $50m annually as determined by documented post deployment business case. Recognition of team members by senior executive management.

January, 2013 to April, 2014 - Analyzed and documented key business requirements for FTTC and 4G LTE for the Northeast footprint. Led a team of key stakeholders to upgrade bandwidth for VZ Wireless.The purpose of this project was to increase Bandwidth to VZW by installing Fiber to the Cell Site. Key accomplishments included: Increased revenue to VZW and improved throughput performance.

February, 2010 to December, 2012 - Managed 2 projects simultaneously including, the Network Element Backup Project and National Software Library.The purpose of these projects was to autonomously capture Database backups of Network Elements, as well as create one location for all software and firmware upgrades to Transport NE’s. Key accomplishments included client acceptance and on time delivery of all contractual work products deliverable per the master schedule milestones.

January, 2008 to January, 2010 - Led a team of 3 direct reports to establish a process for the movement of all Surveillance and Maintenance applications to any location within the Country.The purpose of this project was to migrate critical functions and Mainframe applications, during times of National Emergency or Severe Weather related outages. Key accomplishments included identification of key choke points and recommendations for operational improvement of redundancy and overlapping layers of control. This resulted in a net annual savings of $3.6m and earned the team senior recognition for Process improvement. This functionality was also utilized during the CWA strike of 2011.

January, 2008 to Present - Led a series of projects to transition the Transport Network from copper to optical based platforms. This includes the roll out of the FIOS Networks and all supporting infrastructure. Key accomplishments included effective management of vendor resources and cost avoidance of $10m over a two year period. Timely reporting of Software or Firmware failures resulting in accelerated dot releases and installation of fixes.

Senior Networking Testing Manager:January, 2007 to December, 2007- Conducted all Software and Firmware testing on the Fujitsu Flashwave 9500 ROADM Intelligent Network Element in the Silver Springs, MD Testing Lab. Led 4 associate testing resources working with the Vendor to deliver the ROADM Network Element on time for deployment to Network.

January, 2006 to December, 2006- Conducted all Software and Firmware testing on the Tellabs 7100 ROADM Intelligent Network Element in the Silver Springs MD Testing Lab. Working with the Vendor, we were able to deliver NE on time for deployment to the Network for buildout of OC192 Rings.

January 2003, to December, 2005- Performed all integration testing on multiple Vendor Network Elements, for deployment to the Verizon ROADM and Sonet Transport Optical Network.

Senior Migration Engineer:February, 2000 to December, 2002- Analyzed and conducted the Migration of VZ Wireless Voicemail to next generation Voicemail switch. I worked extensively with the Vendor in San Jose CA to provide a unique product to VZW that would allow VM to Text capabilities.

Plant Operations Engineer:August 1994 to March 1998 – Key responsibilities included, Start Up/Watch Engineer of the 40 MW Nissequogue Station, providing all electrical and thermal requirements of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Nissequogue is a $100m, state of the art facility, saving the host over $20 millionAnnually in energy expenditures. Directed station operations of the duty crew, environmental compliance, electrical generation, thermal loading, and responsibility to our campus-based customer. In addition, responsible for training employees, reviewed they're performance, wrote technical Operating Manuals for the station. Certified General Electric Level 1 Maintenance for the LM-6000 Gas Turbine Generator, including certification in: Haz-Mat, First Responder, Confined Space Entry, American Red Cross, CPR and First Aid.
