3 Person Ambrose Event
On Sunday October 14th we had a full field of 84
players contest our 3 Person Ambrose Event at
Jubilee, all vying for a host of great prizes and that
elusive $10 000 hole-in-one that was on offer. The
sun was shining and, as usual the course was
presented beautifully by our ground staff and their
team of volunteers. A special mention to Simon for
the extra duties that he carried out without any fuss.
Our club raised close to $3,500, which will help
off-set the cost of our recently purchased fertilizer.
A special thanks to the following gentlemen who
gave up their day, and a chance to participate in the
tournament, to make sure everything ran smoothly.
Alan Bell and Kevin Elliott spent several hours
manning the BBQ and assisting in the kitchen,
whilst Lawrie Godfrey, Kevin O’Shea and Simon
Godfrey ensured nobody went thirsty. Up on the
13th hole Alan Sands, Brian Luxford and Rob
Lowe kept a close eye on the $10 000 hole-in-one
proceedings and provided some additional
entertainment for the punters in our field.
Thanks to Ash Neave, Bill O’Brien, Alan White
and Fraser Jeffery for their support and to all those
who helped in the kitchen.
Not only did we feast on Alan & Kevin’s sausages
but, thanks to the generosity of Brian Luxford and
Jim D’Arcy, we also enjoyed delicious pulled pork
rolls with coleslaw for lunch.
Congratulations to Steve Gulbin for scoring a hole-
in-one on the day but, unfortunately it was on the
4th hole and not the 13th!

businesses who provided a wide range of

Jubilee Golf Club Board. Nomination forms will be
available in the clubhouse. Think seriously about
whether you can contribute in a more active way at
Jubilee Golf Club.
Community Raffle 250 books were handed out.
Only 150 books have been returned so far
It is now getting very close to when all raffle books
should be returned. The co-ordinator has to collate
all the books and organise the money before
handing everything on to the organising group.
So if your book is still at home (at the office, in the
car, etc etc.) return it to the Proshop as soon as
possible. 110 books still need to be returned.
100 outstanding books means a lot of emails, phone
calls and time spent trying to get them returned on
time.
Last year Jubilee GC was the organisation which
sold the most tickets and we also won some
significant prizes. Let’s hope that happens again.
Urgent attention required.

10 best Caddy Replies: If it's important for caddies to be honest in their
expressions to help the golfer for whom they are
caddying, then this guy is good at his job.
# 10 -- Golfer: "Think I'm going to drown myself in
the lake."
Caddy: "Think you can keep your head down that
long?"
# 9 -- Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to break
100 on this course."
Caddy: "Try heaven, you've already moved most of
the earth."
# 8 -- Golfer: "Do you think my game is
improving?"
Caddy: "Yes sir, you miss the ball much closer
now."
# 7 -- Golfer: "Do you think I can get there with a 5
iron?"
Caddy: "Eventually."
# 6 -- Golfer: "You've got to be the worst caddy in
the world."
Caddy: "I don't think so sir. That would be too
much of a coincidence."
