Our Work: Our goal is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.
Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, income that can
support a family through retirement, and good health. These are the focus areas we have moved towards. The 2014-
15 funding focused on Education, Health, Income, and Emergency Services. The goal is to provide the community
with funded programs that make a difference by developing effective partnerships with the local agencies. Through
these partnerships we will measure the program outcomes and impact on the communities needs, communicate
results and successes, and adjust our focus as community needs change.
EDUCATION: $101,000 United Way Worldwide believes education is the cornerstone of individual and community success. The United Way model focuses on sup-
portive communities, effective schools and strong families — strategies and approaches rooted in research. Tackling the education chal-
lenge requires reframing education from birth through high school. We were able to assist with 458,778 services.
HEALTH: $157,200 United Way strives to help all who are in need. Whether it is a neighbor without health insurance, a victim of abuse or ensuring a child
has a safe place to call home, UWCA seeks to provide affordable and quality care for all in need. UWCA is working to make health necessities
available to everyone in our Central Arkansas area. We were able to assist with 290,398 services.
INCOME: $43,000 By providing help to the homeless, those with developmental delays and those needing transportation, UWCA is helping relieve some of
financial strain many people in our area feel. Allocating money for income programs has eased part of the financial burden for members of
our community. We were able to assist with 109,605 services.
Emergency Services: $77,500 Our emergency services programs are intact for emergencies. These monies are set aside for people in immediate need. They are used to
help those unable to pay electric bills or to help in the event of a natural disaster. This category alleviates some of the stress neighbors feel
when they are at their most desperate. We were able to assist with 8,460 services.

2016 Highlights
CEO Luncheon 9/2015: In September, United Way hosted business leaders within Faulkner and Perry County at Centennial Valley Country Club. We thanked the Campaign coordinators that did a great job on last year’s campaign and welcomed several new campaigns. There were over 100 in attendance. We encouraged leaders in the community to hold campaigns in their corporations.
Turkey Trot 5K 10/2015: United Way hosted the First Annual Turkey Trot 5k at Centennial Valley Event Center. This event was expected to bring out 100 attendees, but we instead had 350. We raised over $15,000 during this event.
Jeans & Bling 3/2016: On March 31st, United Way hosted the 6th Annual Jeans & Bling at Centennial Valley Country Club. It was the second year to include a “Beer Garden,” which involved craft beer tasting. Sponsorships added up to $28,750 and $40,568.32 was raised overall.
Employee Changes 2015-2016: There were several staff changes throughout the fiscal year. Kelsey Powell, our Campaign Coordinator, jumped on the opportunity to become the Executive Director at Conway Cradle Care and we are so proud of her. With her departure, Briana Stiner quickly picked up the role as Campaign Coordinator.
