Freedom Party!

Recently, the Whiz Kidz (K-5th grade) earned a reward party

(right) for their positive behaviors during program! Points are

earned by attendance, cooperating during Bible lesson/ story

time, and memorizing and reciting memory verses.

At the end of the school year youth are able to spend their points at this party which included pizza, popcorn, and a movie! With their collected points, they could purchase a cold pop or candy as an additional treat!

This party would not have been possible without the support

from the students’ own families, who donated all of the treats

and drinks in honor of their “golden behavior.”

Do you have some ideas on future reward parties? Would you like to donate toward upcoming reward parties? We would love to have you join us in celebrating youth who earn rewards!

Contact Valerie (vutsler@freedomforyouth.org) or Savana (sdorsey@freedomforyouth.org) to get involved.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Melissa & Molly

This wonderful mother-daughter duo served as regular volunteers on Mondays

throughout the 2016/2017 school year. They are always available for homework

help, small group games, and are known for donating yummy after school snacks!

When asked why they serve: “We love seeing the kiddos. Molly loves to volunteer

and wants to be a tutor as she grows up!”

Jesus Story Time

Want to impact the youth in our community? Join us this

summer!

We will have program at several locations across Winterset. K-

12th grade youth can enjoy a lunch or heavy snack and learn

about the most important Story of all time. Together, we’ll

invite children to join the greatest of adventures, discovering

that Jesus is the center of God’s great story of salvation– and at

the center of their “story,” too!

We’ll read from The Jesus Storybook Bible, and are seeking

weekly “Story Station Hosts” at each location. This could be a

great youth group or family activity! Would you partner with us

as we reach out to our neighborhoods for 7 weeks this

summer?

Follow us on Facebook to discover our locations and dates or

email us at: vutsler@freedomforyouth.org

How Does Our Garden Grow?

In partnership with The Masters Gardener Club, our

volunteer, Beth Devries, shares her passion for gardening with

all ages of youth! She teaches them about the different crops,

seasons, etc. Once a week she takes small groups outside to

plant our “salad bowl” produce items!

Youth are getting connected to God’s design for their food

and learning budget friendly ways to supplement their

incomes! Last summer, the youth built raised beds at the

Freedom Center and at Winterset Foursquare Churches yard.

Would you like to join the fun? We need Small Group Helpers

to join us once a week on either a Tuesday or Thursday as we

tend our gardens and reap what we sow!

Contact Valerie at vutsler@freedomforyouth.org to sign up!
