KARLE GARMENT FACTORY

KARLE GARMENT FACTORY

It is designed by architect “ Ayuss Kumar “.

It is situated 25 km away from Bangalore.

The total site area is 37,100sq.m

151, industrial suburb yeshwanthpur,bangalore,karnataka.

SITE PLAN:

1.ADMINISTRAT-IVE BUILDING2.SHOWCASE WAREHOUSE3.LANDSCAPED RECREATIONAL AREA4.MAIN WAREHOUSE

REQUIREMENT AND PROGRAM

The client had already developed a prefabricated warehouse as shown in the key plan (Block 4).

Our brief  was to develop a front office building (Block 1) and a showcase warehouse (Block 2) in front of this existing warehouse as a new facade between the highway and the warehouse, which has a bleak elevation.

The front office building is to house facilities such as private offices for the senior managers, orientation and seminar rooms, meeting rooms and an exhibition space.

The show case warehouse is to house facilities for presentation of garments to clients.

DESIGN RESOLUTION

The structure rises in response to the height of the warehouse in the rear thus minimizing the view of the mundane rear warehouse from the highway.

Since floor areas are large and uninterrupted, we used double height spaces and greater floor to ceiling heights proportional to the horizontal spaces.

•The buildings are a combination of simple geometric forms interlocking to form a complex interplay of spatial volumes.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY

• RCC construction with exposed form finished concrete and glass is used for the front office.

• Prefabricated steel portal frames were used for  the showcase garment factory with aluminium  sheet siding
