They’ve grouped us into analogue
or digital,
Intolerance for each other
potentially fatal,
Verbal exchanges are continually
brutal,
Our call remains eternal.
Battle lines ‘been drawn for this
political ‘war’,
Perceived ‘enemy’ has been sighted
outside the door,
A cry to attack has been sounded
to spur,
Our call remains eternal.
Through the counties their
opponents they taunt,
With promises of change, their
agenda they flaunt,
In pomp and glamour their
manifestos they launch,
Our call remains eternal.
In spite the hustle and bustle of
political fever,
From the terraces citizens follow
like observers,
Our lives as citizens continues as
ever,
Our call remains eternal.
The excitement of campaigns
infects the citizens,
Political choices are made in
dozens,
Decency is suspended as matters
are brazen,
Our call remains eternal.
Society is confused on who is the
choice candidate,
Analysts differ on this heated
debate,
Opinion polls spew confusion
without abate,
Our call remains eternal.
Citizens gripped by fear of looming
change,
Memories of past election not yet
out of range,
Electoral processes and structures
the IEBC doth arrange,
Our call remains eternal.
Churches call on believers on their
knees to pray,
For candidates and the election
process each day,
That God would establish His one
and only way,
Our call remains eternal.
We decline the invitation to fight,
We shun the counsel of those who
spite,
We disconnect ourselves from they
that ignite,
For our call remains eternal.
In the political darkness, we are
the light of the world,
Where there is bad taste, we are
the salt of the earth,
For emotional injuries, we are the
healing balm of wrath,
For our call remains eternal.
Our political ideologies may be
diverse,
Our spiritual destiny is the
reverse,
Our source of identity created the
universe,
For our call remains eternal.
We shall not watch as citizens tear
each other,
With our words, on our knees and
our vote we’ll bring order,
Place our kingdom above
democracy in that order,
For our call remains eternal.
No cord can hold as tight as the compassion
of Christ,
No jubilee is greater than angelic rejoicing
resulting from a forgiven sinner,
No peace is greater than that from the prince
of peace,
No eagle can fly higher than the one that
draws strength renewed from waiting upon
the Lord.
Our party is the eternal party in heaven,
Our flag bearer is the creator of earth and
heaven,
His running mate is seated at His right hand
in heaven,
The majority leader is our comforter when
we are laden,
Brethren, our call is eternal lets live beyond
the temporal.
