KINGSPORT MAIN STREET R E L O C A T I O N P R O J E C T

Appalachian Power representatives plan to relocate

approximately half a mile of transmission line along Main

Street in Kingsport. The Kingsport Main Street Relocation

Project involves relocating the line to the opposite side of the

street and replacing the wooden poles with steel poles. This

relocation supports Kingsport City's beautification initiative and

provides additional space for construction and growth in the

area. Appalachian Power representatives expect construction

to begin within the next month and conclude by late spring.

Crews plan to remove the original wooden poles at a later date

in coordination with Kingsport City's beautification initiative.
