PROJECT DISCRIPTION
To study the chemical composition of the egg shell to find its suitability of replacement in the concrete.
Eggshell powder
Replacing cement by eggshell powder as 2%, 2.5% and 5% by weight
To examine the feasibility of utilizing the egg shell and micro silica as cement replacement material.
Micro silica
Properties of micro silica
• spherical particles less than 1 μm in diameter
• Specific gravity 2.2 to 2.4
To study the strength parameters of the egg shell powder mixed specimens and to compare it with conventional specimens.
Strengths to be examined:
1. compressive strength
2. Flexural strength
3. Split tensile strength

Egg shell powder obtained from industrial wastes is added invarious ratios for cement replacement and it was found thatreplacement of 5% Egg shell powder + 20 % Microsilica canbe added without any reduction in compressive strength
propertiesof conventional cement. And replacement of 5% Egg shellpowder + 10% Micro silica replacement in cement yields
similarflexural strength as in conventional concrete. And replacementof 5% Egg shell powder + 10% Micro silica replacementin cement yields higher Split Tensile strength as compared toother compositions.
