Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to Week 9. Thank you to those who have offered to assist with the chickens over the holidays,
it’s greatly appreciated. We will have the roster out very soon.
The school holidays begin on Saturday 6 July. We return on Monday 22 July, as our Staff Development
Day is on Monday 19 August.
We are making some slight changes in regard to attendance. If your child is absent for 3 days
unexplained, someone from our school will make contact with you, this follows the Department of
Education attendance policy. Remember if your child is away you can ring us or send a note in to explain
the absence.
Sports Update. Our Zone team has been training every Friday. Our touch teams have also begun training
and will participate in a gala day early next term and our soccer team will compete later this term against
Fern Bay at Turner Park.
Fix The Field Trivia Night. On Saturday 17 August we will be holding a trivia night at the school. As of next
term we will be starting to take money and tables for this event. The purpose of this event is to raise as
much money as possible to fix our field. It will be $15 a person and the maximum number of people at a
table is 10. Grab your friends and your family for this event. Students are not permitted at the trivia night
however if this causes an issue please let us know as there may be a solution. We are then hoping to
have a working bee towards the end of August, early September.
We hope that you all have an enjoyable holiday and look forward to seeing all your smiling faces again
next term.

This term in Stage 3’s REAL project we have
been looking at Asia and Japan. As part of our
integrated STEM learning, we have been look-
ing at the traditions of SUMO wrestling and
learning to program Sphero robots to
complete tasks based on Sumo Wrestling. Our
end goal is to “Sumo Wrestle” another Sphero
ball and gain the ultimate champion. We will
also be showcasing our new skills during
Education week.

Fun in 5/6 !
A huge thank you for the efforts skipping and fundraising for the Jump Rope for Heart program this term. Together we
raised an incredible $1,885.76 and this
money will all go towards vital heart research and education programs. We’ve loved seeing so many smiling faces skipping on the playground and in sports lessons.
Our Jump Off Day was a huge success!
