GRAND KNIGHT’S COMMENTS – Jeff Fry jfry4@neo.rr.com
Zoom! Who would have thought that Zoom would be the operative word of the day? Last month, we held our business meeting, knowing that COVID-19 was a growing problem, but not necessarily enough to alter our plans for weeks at a time. What a difference a month makes! In so many ways, our lives have slowed down, almost to a snail’s pace. When attending Mass is no longer a possibility, working from home is the norm (if one is lucky), and worrying about loved ones is a daily occurrence, you know that times are different.
For last week’s officers’ meeting, we tried Zoom and met live online. It went well, and inspired us to try again with the business meeting tonight. Despite a couple of glitches, we met and 16 men joined the meeting online. We got to see a few brothers that we haven’t seen in a while, so Zoom worked to our benefit. It seems like everyone in the country is playing “catch up” right now on some level. We can’t wait to get back to the way things “used to be,” but we don’t know what the new “normal” is going to look like. In the meantime, our council will try to keep zooming toward the future with new technology (grudgingly sometimes), but will lean on the foundation of the past as we continue to work to better our community and parish.

It’s Been a Rough Ride!
A lot has happened since the last newsletter. The Coronavirus, COVID-19, has wreaked havoc on the whole
country. Well, actually, the whole world. Pretty much everything has been shut down to slow spread of the
virus. And, it’s unknown how long these precautions will have to be taken. For millions of Americans of all
denominations, no church on Easter Sunday has been coronavirus’s cruelest closure so far. Continue to pray,
communicate with others, stay safe, and SMILE!
Men are responding to the Super Cash Bonanza incentive program! If you send in at least 4 tickets (stubs&
money) you will be entered into a drawing for a $50 certificate to Sub Station! Sell those tickets!
The council is working to put Prince of Peace Masses on-line. Watch for more information on this project.
