Using the hats to make a decision

First we looked at a story called “The Choice Is Up to You”. In the story the whole class raised enough money to get something for the whole class. We thought of ideas and used the 6 hats to make a decision.

We wrote information about the choice. We said that the class only had 50 dollars or 2300 pesos . They couldn’t get a toy and it had to be something that lasted long , was strong and could be shared by everyone. Everyone had to agree on the item.

We looked at different things we could buy and we thought of an IPOD.

Some people may be sad

because they wouldn’t get

what they want.

A good thing is that

everyone can listen to the music.

It is breakable.

People might fight over it and it cost more than

2300 pesos.

Maybe we can buy a cheaper

model not an IPOD model.

The easiest one is the yellow

and black because you know what is good and bad

about the thing you choose.

All of us drew an idea of what we could get for the classroom and then we made a bar graph. Books was the winner.

After we practiced making decisions with a group, we got into pairs and we had to use the six hat’s to solve a tough decision in pairs. We color coordinated our writing to match the hats.
