Shape Corp. and SME Partnership: PRIME program
Shape Corp., SME and the SME Education Foundation’s PRIME initiative actively engages and builds a collaborative network between manufacturing students, educators and industry to grow and train the next generation workforce while driving interest and awareness in manufacturing.
• PRIME program enabled Shape Corp. to build a lab whereby students can learn skills in automation, metrology, and welding and gain insight on what types of careers are available in the manufacturing industry.
• PRIME program is different than other programs because it bridges the gap between industry and education.
• Through our partnership with SME PRIME lab our high school students will be utilizing Tooling U-SME online Training Material.

• Shape Corp. SME Prime are the in middle of identifying Shape Corp. skills needs to create 3 pathways for pipeline development. The grant agreement has been signed and Shape Corp. is excited to be getting this kicked off right away.
• Shape Corp. is working with Grand Haven High School and expects to kick off no later than June, 2017.
• Shape Corp. expects to reach 150 students and impact Shape Corp. manufacturing skilled trades and quality job roles over the next 3 years.
