0f Primary ElectionAt a meeting of the Democratic Committee of Ppwell coun ¬

ty Kentucky pursuant to due notice at Stanton Ky on the 7thday of December 1008 there was present the following dulyelected qualified and acting Precinct Committeemen

Robt Kennon L Faulkner J M Buchanan and T G Morehead by proxy to J M Buchanan L Loving W B Congloton

It was ordered that for the purpose of nominating Demo ¬

cratic Candidates for the several County offices to be voted forat the election to be held November 1909 a primary election beheld in the county of Powell SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6th Igothat a poll bo opened in each of the several precincts of said coutyty from 0 AM until 4 P M on said date at which all personsresiding in said precincts and who are legal voters and knownDemocrats shall have a right to vote That the officers to con ¬

duct said primary election shall be two Judges a Sheriff and aClerk for each of the precincts in said County but that the Clerkshall have no vote on any question that may arise

All persons who may desire to become candidates before saidprimary shall in writing so notify the Chairman of this Commit ¬

tee on or before the 7th day of January 1000 and that the per-

sons¬

giving such written notice shall be permitted to have theirnames printed on the ballots to be used in said election

That this Committee shall meet at Stanton Ky on the 11thday of January lOOn for the purpose of selecting the officers toconduct said primary election and to arrange for the supplying ofthe ballots to be used in qaid election

That in order to defray the expense of said primary electioneach person who may on or before the 7th day of January 1000notify the Chairman of this Committee of his purpose to becomea candidate before said primary election shall on or before the7th day of January 1909 deposit with the Chairman of this Com ¬

mittee the sum of 10 00 to be used in defraying of the expensesincident to the said primary election except candidates for Mag ¬

strates and they shall deposit the sum of 5 00 and Constablest tu t rt roo w oL + iorThat in the event the whole of the sum so deposited is notconsumed in the paying of said expenses the surplus shall be pro ¬

rated among the persons depositing sameNotice of this primary election shall be given by either writ ¬
