Dear Parents: For the second quarter in FLES class we will cover the theme of THE SCHOOL (La escuela). Your child will learn about:(1) Places and People in the School (2) School Supplies and (3) School Subjects.As a culmination to this theme your child will be asked to create a presentation of their escuela (school) using the vocabulary learned in FLES class. Students will create either:(a) a poster (b) a powerpoint or (c) a video. This presentation will be started and worked onduring class. Please have students finish anything not completed in class and practice their presentation at home. The project is tentatively due before Winter Break.
The question structures below, which will be covered in class, must be covered in your child’s presentation. Your child may include more, but these are the minimum requirements. The questions below are provided for your information. Students will bring home their own copy which was filled out in class. Your child will be allowed to use his/her draft when presenting their visual if they choose.The following are the questions covered in class and needed for the presentation:

PROYECTOLA ESCUELA
Purpose: This lesson is incorporated into a unit about school subjects, objects, and other school related areas. You will use school related Spanish vocabulary and proper Spanish grammar to describe what your school is like. You will expand on the categories of: places in the school (lugares en la escuela), staff (el personal), school supplies (materials), and subjects (las clases/materias). You are asked to create a power point presentation/ poster/ or video answering the guided questions and use it as a guide for giving an oral presentation about your school to the class in the target language. The presentation can be no longer than 3 minutes.
Objectives: The students will create and give a presentation using learned Spanish grammar and vocabulary on “la escuela”.
Task: You will create a presentation of your ESCUELA (school). A poster (or power point presentation or video ) will be used as tool when you present to the class about your ESCUELA (school). The following 3 categories and the questions below them must be covered in your presentation. You may include more, but the minimum requirements are as follows:
Rough Draft: All answers to questions should be in complete sentences, rough draft needs to be checked by teacher. You cannot start creating your Poster/Power point/ video until teacher has checked your rough draft for any mistakes!
