LA TORRICELLA

BARBERA D’ALBA

“ARIOTA” 2011 Winemaker: Silvia Pressenda

Appellation: Barbera d’Alba DOC

Sub-region: Monforte d’Alba

Region: Piemonte

Country: Italy

Grape: Barbera

Vintage: 2011

Cellar ing: 2017

Closure: Cork

Bottle size: 75cl

Alcohol: 14%

Yield: 63 hl / hectare

METHOD

Calcareous soils with south-western exposure at an

altitude of 500 metres. The Barbera vines are nearly

twenty years old. Grapes were picked in the first week

of October and underwent maceration on skins for ten

days, fermented in stainless steel tanks, then

maturation for eight months in used French oak

barriques followed by six months in bigger French oak

barrels.

TASTING NOTES

Yum… Rich, deep, earthy yet so elegant. Some red cherries, then waves of

blackberries and plums. Delicious.

VICTUALS

Awesome with pasta and a rich, tomato-based ragu, a spicy puttanesca sauce,

fettuccine alla Bolognese, veal in a creamy sauce, or cheese-wise something such

as Taleggio
