Journey to the colony

Introduction

• The reason we moved was because one of our family friends was moving to Austin’s colony. He suggested we go with him. We had talked to Austin about how much land we would qualify for and qualified for 1520 acres.

• The trip west was very bad and bumpy it was also very lonely. When we finally got there it loooked like a very nice place to be.

• Crops were okay this year. We ended the ear with 1,239.2 dollars.

1822• We spent 450 dollars on crops. But we only

made 300 dollars because we gained back the 450 we spent.

• We sold mostly beef this year. Because we sold no cotton this year. Lumber was not needed much because we had shelters for everything.

• We made 1050 dollars off of crops. We ended the year after paying our land payment 939.2 dollars

• All of the crops sold pretty good this year. But we had to pay 100 dollars for protection.

• We made 3150 dollars off of all our crops. That was added to what was left after investing which was 139.6 dollars.

• We had decided to stay in Austin’s colony. But our friend decided to go back because he was doing very terribly with all his crops.

Ending

• We had good years once texas was controlled by the united states. So we got rich off of crops and we had a very good life.
