Driven shooting has been a long standing tradition in Europe for centuries. In America, the sport is growing in popularity; however, there are very few places to experience
the thrill and comradery that accompanies a driven shoot. The partners of the Lazy Triple Creek Ranch had a vision to utilize the ranch’s perfect terrain, shooting
locations, weather, and environment of Eastern Idaho to create a spectacular American driven hunt experience. The result has been outstanding, and now Lazy Triple Creek
is known among elite shooters as a top tier driven hunt location in the West. The ranch sets up perfectly for many entertaining shots given its deep ravines providing excellent
shooting locations coupled with the productive upland benches above which provide feed and cover for the Chukar partridge, and pheasants. The professional, experienced
staff is ready to continue this tradition with the next owner, and the ranch infrastructure is in place such that this level of sophisticated driven hunts will be simple to continue.

In addition to the driven shoots, the ranch is home to many
varieties of wild upland birds. Hungarian partridge, sharp-
tailed grouse, and ruffed grouse inhabit all the various
terrains on the property, offering differing hunting options
for the purest of upland enthusiast. The manager’s compound
includes a well-kept dog kennel, ideal for housing the pointers
and retrievers needed for these upland hunts. Managed to
retain birds on site, the production ground on the 4 plateaus
has historically been planted with forage and cover, great for
birds and big game alike, and the results have been fabulous.

Clays Shooting
A great sporting clays course is hard to find, and the
current set up at the Lazy Triple Creek is second to
none. Sporting clays, trap and skeet, grouse butt, five stand,
quail simulation and driven bird simulation all take place
on the property by utilitizing the incredible terrain with
the 70+ promatic traps. For the sport shooting enthusiast,
this ranch will provide an excellent way to hone in skills
and ensure productive shooting when in the field.

Big Game Hunting
The exceptional big game hunting found onsite can be largely attributed to the ranch location within the
Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. This expansive and diverse ecosystem provides the habitat in which elk,
mule deer and moose thrive and grow to their full potential. Healthy populations of each can be found on
the ranch throughout the year and can be found in greater numbers during the hunting season on the deeded
ground due to local hunting pressure on the adjacent national forest. It is not uncommon to harvest a 300”+
class bull elk or a 200” mule deer during the prime hunting months of the year.
In Idaho, ownership of properties 640 acres or greater allows one to register the property with the Idaho
Department of Fish and Game and qualify for the Landowner Preference Program or LAP. This program allows
landowners with property that provides significant habitat values for deer, elk, pronghorn or black bear to apply
for the preferred and more sought after tags for the game management area in which the property is located.
This program increases the drawing odds for the later season controlled hunts while also increasing the odds
of harvesting a trophy elk or mule deer during the migration season when these animals make their way to
wintering grounds from the nearby Teton Mountain Range.
As a resident of the state of Idaho one can purchase an over the counter elk and deer tag for the general seasons
or apply for controlled hunt areas if desired.
Canyon Creek graces the western edge of the Lazy Triple Creek Ranch providing excellent angling
opportunities for the native Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout and Brook Trout predominant in the area. At an
average flow rate of 12 CFS year-round, this creek is considered an intimate fishery that is easily wadable. Stands
of Cottonwoods and Willows line the banks of this fishery providing excellent habitat. Stream enhancement has
been done on this stretch to provide larger and deeper pools and better holding water for resident fish in the area.
Live Water
“Canyon Creek, part of the Teton River Watershed, is one of the most important
native Yellowstone Cutthroat spawning tributaries within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. This highly productive and rare system boasts approximately 11,000 Yellowstone Cutthroat trout from its headwaters in the national forest to its confluence with the Teton River. It is estimated that there may even be more native cutthroat trout in Canyon Creek than in the Teton River Canyon from Felt to Willford.”
Mike Lien – Friends of the Teton River, Restoration Director
Eastern Idaho is considered by many to be the one of the most trout-rich areas of the world. From the ranch,
one can easily reach the storied waters of the Teton River and the Henry’s Fork, as well as the Snake River and
South Fork of the Snake. The Teton is an incredibly productive spring creek style fishery, thanks to the plethora
of insect life and willing trout. The Henry’s Fork, renowned for its rainbow and brown trout, offers excellent
fishing opportunites year round, though its famed Salmonfly hatch in the early Summer is not to be missed.
The South Fork of the Snake is a stronghold for the Yellowstone Cutthroat and is the ultimate tailwater fishery,
boasting magnificent bug life from large stone flies to PMD’s, which emerge from the many world-famous
riffles. There are also dozens of smaller fisheries within easy driving distance of the ranch, including the Fall
River, Bitch Creek, Badger Creek, Pine Creek, and many more.

The Lazy Triple Creek Ranch has a platted subdivision on the property with over 50 lots, all of which are
owned by the current partnership and will transfer in the sale. This affords an incoming owner many
options with either development in mind or conservation. Considering the value of the scenery and wildlife
on this property, the ranch would be an ideal candidate for a Conservation Easement, which could provide
significant tax benefits for an incoming owner.
