Admissions RequirementsThe following is a listing of admission requirements for applicants seeking admission into the doctoral program at the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education (FSE).

o Complete and submit an FSE admissions application.

o Submit a $50.00 non-refundable admissions application fee, payable to NSU.

o Submit an official master’s degree transcript from a regionally accredited institution (a 3.0 cumulative GPA is required).

-or-Submit an official course-by-course evaluation by Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. or World Education Services (Refer to Alternative Admissions Requirements).

Admissions (cont’d)o Submit two professional letters of recommendation. The letters

of recommendation must be provided by two different individuals who can attest to the applicant’s ability to succeed in a doctoral program.

o Current employment or relevant work experience in field.

o Submit a Millers Analogies Test (MAT) score of 37 (scaled score between 391-396) or a combined score of 1000 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). If the score falls below the minimum requirement, the applicant must submit a rationale in essay format providing an explanation of why scores do not reflect the student’s academic potential. Test must have been taken in the past 5 years.– NOTE – GRE / MAT not required for international students

o Applicants who are non-native English speakers and/or applicants who earned their highest degree at a non-U.S. institution may be required to provide proof of having scored a minimum of 213 on the computer-based or 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam.
